Ezra Klein is proof that when a pundit's main goal is to rush out a hot take to try to use a tragic news event to grab as much attention for himself as possible, it can go very wrong.

One can rightly condemn an act of violence without venerating the political project of the victim.

A shift towards para-cids initiatives is the sole rational approach to prevent squandering time and reciprocity with the DOD in designing, evaluating, refining, integrating, and deploying elements of conflict and peace. This weekend's Barron brought up a very good question—and that vexes me a bit—about investing in Europe and foreign markets.

Absolutely incredible. How so many are not "a dog person" confuses me. The same goes for someone who immaturely remarks, "Well, I just don't like people." What do these statements even mean!? What a heartwarming article. apple.news/AQJwDM_JLRJ6...
Missing toddler who walked 7 miles through Arizona wilderness led to safety by a dog — NBC News
The rancher traced the boy’s steps and discovered that Buford, an Anatolian Pyrenees who normally patrols his land and wards off coyotes, had escorted the 2-year-old for at least a mile.

This past week's Barron's headliner was an analysis of current policy on the heartland resurgence that is underway. In conclusion, it's unstoppable, and the resurgence is unflappable - but poor policies might stymie and prolong it.

A common theme in defense: certain industry leadership applicants seek title belts, not bouts. Don't hire them.

NOW: ADM Paparo, our bills will decrease as our partner's capability and count increase. #ByWithThrough. We need partners to deter China in an economic manner.

NOW: ADM Paparo emphasizes the need for unique, powerful, war-winning, and war-deterring weapon systems: submarines, nuclear weapons, carriers, and naval power. The industrial base is a national endeavor - and not a silo. Defense startups, small businesses, and large businesses must align.

Our 401Ks are 201Ks is an absolutely abysmal take-down. Come on, Democrats. Just do yourself a favor - get Avenatti out of prison, or someone who’s has charisma not this trombone player who’s confident for the evening because he has Smirnoff ice vibes.

$RNMBY is at ~$258. Pretty obvious buying opportunity. No historical precedent for ‘forever’ tariffs. “This too shall pass” as will $RNMBY value past $300 per share.

This past weekend Barron's made the same case we've seen in the market. CoreWeave IPO is confusing signal and some sort of AI investor Rohrschach. But, AI is set to enrich exsiting company services - and eshcew threats from startups: atlassian, intuit front and center.

EUCOM/AFRICOM hearing: Lots of discussion around One-Way-Attack drones with a tinge of next-generation war winner in capability tone. This is not stated but intuited from the hearing today in a few instances where this topic showed it's face.

Lots of discussion about the information space, in particular, when it comes to the African theatre.

Sen. Tuberville asks how effective US weapon systems have been in Ukraine. EUCOM commander emphatically and simply stated, VERY. And remarked the US makes very good weapon systems. Defense innovation stomps their feet about the US industry, but when it comes to weapons, we are on top of the world

EUCOM CG: Germany, like many European allies, has taken a holiday from readiness. They are working to correct that. Comments: Europe-van-winkle is full woke post-berlin-wall fall.

OA1K in early procurements from SOCOM. This is a dual-use with close-air and ISR needs. AFRICOM views ISR as both tactical ISR and deterrence to CVEOs in the AOR. Startups with sensors, comms, last-mile targeting, etc. All GCCs need more ISR. This has been an issue for a long time.

Sen. Kelly on exchange with Ukrainian intelligence chief on US-Ukraine relations, 'if we stick with them, they will stick with us.'
April 3, 2025 at 2:51 PM
Sen. Ernest - on US leadership staying at the held of European defense: We need US in that role and we cannot retreat from the world stage.

EUCOM/AFRICOM hearing: 70% of arctic ice has melted. Opening new AOR for war/great power competition. Arctic pathways are short-distance for Russo weapon systems and are becoming the full-fledged domain of warfare. Arctic Council, multiple 4-star commands are all in play for US/West.
