No! Although that could be named that too. Actually, a lot of DD9 could. It feels too relevant.

But is the one where Leyton attempts a military coup.

• I value “no”, because it is an opportunity to be imaginative — it creates space to explore creative possibilities. I believe there is more than 1 “right way” to tell a story, & that the way we find together is likely the best way.

The values were there, but adding how they look “in the room”.

Same. I don’t like it. I tell myself:

1. I think everyone is scared & angry- it’s contagious. I can only control me & I’m doing the best I can.

2. We’re trying to be “normal” in a world that instead normalizes outrage, urgency & othering. I can only control me & I’m doing the best I can.

I also don’t live there anymore, and haven’t for twenty years. So, I’m surprised I am this upset about it.

Society and community are not individuals. They are made of individuals who see the sum is more than the parts. I want to live in a society that values safety, education, humanity.

That says, “better is better,” period. For all of us.

A healthier, happier, better resourced you doesn’t mean that I am not. Or that I can’t be.

I don’t mind paying taxes so other folks have access to things I take for granted.

When did we assume that someone getting something I don’t need or want means that now I won’t get what I need or want? That someone getting something I don’t means that I lose?

Especially when it’s a community resource.

But this goes for more than just libraries. Roads. Schools. Food pantries. Basic income. Basic news met.
We are better when we are better.
But for some reason, so many folks only think of themselves individually. No ripple effects.

My therapist told me she thought I would like it. And I feel like…I would not.
