Well some good news at least
Buckingham Palace is being plunged into a new pre-Christmas nightmare as newly-released Epstein files made public by the Trump Department of Justice on Friday night include photographs that are deeply damaging to former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
Sordid New ‘Epstein Files’ Photo of Former Prince Andrew Sparks Renewed Royal Crisis
Sprawled, grinning, across a group of women’s laps, and flanked by Ghislaine Maxwell, this new party snapshot defines the moral failings at the heart of Andrew’s horrific abuse of power.

I had an acquaintance with whom I've fallen out since Oct 7 (not my choice, part of a Jewish group of ex mates @ Lehigh). There used to be a lot of appreciation & kindness between us. She's Jewish, based in Sydney. I really hope she's okay & we'll reconnect one day. I'm thinking of Rachel today.

Young ppl is where it's at, they're our only hope; the rest of us, we messed up. That should be our focus. I watch high school & uni students today, they're committed in ways none of the performative BS we saw before (looking at you "climate activists") could have ever succeeded.

Trump wants to restore Europe's former greatness (verbatim what's written in their national security strategy) - unclear if he means mid-40's to 70's, a fascism he certainly subscribes to, or the colonial period. Either or works well for them.

The headline, the main takeaway from a European viewpoint is this:

The transatlantic relationship as we know it is over. Yes, we kinda knew this. But this is now official US White House policy. Not a sppech, not a statement. The West as it used to be no longer exists.
