I remember it being explained to me (only then it was called "expert systems") at my 1st job out of college in 1984. We were using it with IBM mainframe application software. I've worked mostly in manufacturing back offices, and there are TONS of valid use cases for AI. Just not creative ones.

Just what you want to see in the doctor's office parking lot!
A skeleton grabbing onto the spare tire on the back of parked jeep.

Wheel of fate! That makes so much sense! Thank you 🙏

That’s because she hasn’t posted here in months! I hope this is the start of a new commitment to bluesky

That's what is odd, is answering that kind of question is what the Internet is for, and it has utterly failed me!

Forgot about that. That was a sweet episode

Surely that's the first time tampons have ever been mentioned on #TheArchers! ☺️

Those white whiskers on your tuxedo cat! 🥰

This is a sketch of a griffin in front of the cathedral in Ferrara #Italy that I did on my recent trip. I walked past a pair of them about 100 times going to and from the hotel, and I became obsessed. Does anyone know what that wheel is about? #Watercolor #InkAndWash #PenAndInk #ArtYear
A side view of a griffin: half lion, half ? It is sitting on a plinth resting its paw gently on a lamb. It has been painted in warm browns, reds, and oranges. It has an inexplicable small wheel by its right rear foot.

I copied this from a portrait of Isabella Wolff by Sir Thomas Lawrence (early 19th century). Her body language spoke to me. #Watercolor #ArtYear #ColoredPencil #PenAndInk I also just realized this is good for today's #ColorADay #RedWed
A woman in a white dress, sitting despondently, reading a book, holding her head in her right hand.

Amazing how you get that glow.

My secret is I have a list of about 150 muted words (and counting). Now I never see the things people argue about in the first place.

I was able to read it, maybe because I'm in the US? Good read, but ultimately there's no reasoning with these people.

Thank you! It has been quite a sad and stressful journey, and it's not over yet.

Today's stress drawing! My mom's in hospice care now, so the end is in sight, but who knows if we're talking days weeks months. Anyway, this is from a photo I took of a lovely florist shop we passed on the way to the Accademia Bridge in Venice. #watercolor #InkAndWash #ArtYear
An ink and wash painting of a florist shop tucked under large, mature trees. Many pots of colorful flowers are arranged out front. The shop structure has a small statute of a lion on the roof.

Lovely, sensitive portrait.

And lucky you found one that can read!

This is a crazy-good photograph!

An immature male Crowned Woodnymph growing in his adult feathers. There were so many of this species at @tapirvalley.bsky.social #CostaRica this morning.

For #MacroMonday, this is a macro of a Watsonia, a South African native in the lily family that grows well here in California. I love the pink stamens, which look like Persian slippers. #Botany
Three magenta stamens, shaped like Persian slippers, nestled in bright orange, lozenge-shaped petals. A single red anther rises above the stamens.
