I remember it being explained to me (only then it was called "expert systems") at my 1st job out of college in 1984. We were using it with IBM mainframe application software. I've worked mostly in manufacturing back offices, and there are TONS of valid use cases for AI. Just not creative ones.

For #MacroMonday, this is a macro of a Watsonia, a South African native in the lily family that grows well here in California. I love the pink stamens, which look like Persian slippers. #Botany
