The entire site is built with custom elements. Each page an an individual listing is server-side rendered.
Example of an individual listing for a movie: American Psycho. The main page of the site displays the latest 4K Blu-Ray releases. You can drill down by relational data. A Neo4J database in the background contains relationships between actors, directors, movies, studios, etc.

The site had a unique value proposition because nowhere allows you to search by all the criteria here ad-free. One requirement for amazon to allow a site to make money off affiliate links was a unique value proposition but apparently this didn't pass muster.

Anyone else prepping for Thanksgiving right now? Whatcha working on?

I’ve got collard greens on the stove and making a crust for pumpkin pie. Cranberry sauce is done, chicken stock made, turkey is drying in the fridge after a dry brine. Saving mashed potatoes and stuffing for tomorrow.

Photographs from Hillsboro, OR where corporate interests trump the interests of long-time local farms and residents.

Data center in Hillsboro, OR that borders a protected area for restoration. Data centers are located in Hillsboro due to a combination of factors including favorable tax incentives like no sales tax and property tax exemptions and a robust high-capacity fiber network. Hillsboro is the end of the line for a high speed internet cable that runs on the floor of the Pacific Ocean to Oregon. Patch of land adjacent to corporate data centers reserved for restoration. What appears to be a man-made creek flows through the property. Waterways like these are usually on farmland where farm run off can at times damage local fresh water. In this picture, a fence denotes the property line of a local data center which most likely replaced a farm or farm-adjacent residential properties which were pushed out in favor of installing corporate data centers in Hillsboro, OR.

Portland Art Museum had a Grand Opening on Thursday and through the weekend admission is free. If they are under capacity you don't need advance tickets. Highly recommended.

The work of Rick Bartow really stood out to me.

People wait at the Yamhill District Max stop in SW Portland. A person farther away at the nearest intersection crosses the street. The next Max Train scheduled to arrive can be seen in the distance; the front light is on in the afternoon due to rainy conditions. Lisa walked out of the Portland Rescue Mission Burnside Shelter and asked "Would you like to take my portrait?" so I obliged. She looks lovely here, prepared for inclement weather. Portland Art Museum post-construction. A couple walks into the main entrance of the new Mark Rothko Pavilion. The Grand Opening is Thursday, November 20th. Prior to this the two wings of the art museum were only connected underground. Steel Bridge in Portland, OR. A lone Max train crosses on a rainy afternoon. The reflection of the bridge is cast in the Willamette River.
