wednesday session endzone : still get chills whenever i remember i managed to see the spree twice one day.
rob da bank had clearly pushed out the budget and brought them over for 2 shows for camp bestival.
their rocky horror show in the aft, then the full on show later.
so so good.

this is not something i would have ever expected 6 months ago.
i mean, yeah, i loved them back in the late 80s/early 90s.

in other news : after a couple of years of deep ambience, the black dog have today announced a return to the world of machine beats.
as much as i love the brutal ambient stuff, i have already ordered the new album.

sunday session : after the grebo excess comes the on-u sound.
this is an album that rarely gets much love,
but is rather wonderful.
ams had discovered digital dub, but still instilled the results with his love for samples, melody, and skanking grooves.
i love love love this album.

i feel if that if this had been reissued via finders keepers/now-again/numero etc, it would have had a lot more love.
as it is, it still a bit of an undiscovered gem of weird/psych/folk/pop ..

sunday session : last night was an evening of very enjoyable social excess.
this evening is probably going to be all about going back down the grebo rabbit hole.
i.e. GBOA, PWEI etc etc ..
something about this stuff just makes me grin a lot.
