They can't directly ask the question. They need someone to turn in some photos, videos, texts, etc.

However, I wonder if we are leaving these students unprepared to face the world. Part of our job IS to give them some callouses before they get hit in the face. Are we doing them a disservice if make sure they don't get hit?

It reminds me of the time one of my students asked if we could get a new engine. I told them that we could get a chainsaw off fb marketplace and use the motor. That kid looked horrified.
