I look at all the pictures of the Afghanistan earthquake and of course they are horrendous. And of course our compassion is triggered. But my one thought, and I can't let it go, is where are the women? Not one in a picture I've seen. Only men. Rescuing men. Only men.

My heart breaks for all affected by the Afghanistan earthquake, but the women especially-when women can’t be treated by male doctors and can’t become doctors themselves, what options remain? This has been seriously lacking from mainstream reporting @theguardian.com
