👋 Hi Bluesky! We’re ISAIAH — a multiracial group of Minnesotans building #PeoplePower to win a just future for everyone in our state. We come from faith communities, Black barbershops, childcare centers, college campuses, rural places, city neighborhoods, manufactured home parks, and more!

These are the issues that people not only named but really opened up about, sharing their own experiences and deep concerns.

Together, we made a commitment to one another and to our community that we will build the power necessary to protect one another. Let’s go! 📣

🧵💬 High Praise Ministries recently gathered 40 leaders — including Apostle Dewayne Hill & Pastor Parthia Hill — to debrief our deep listening work. We heard loud & clear what matters most to our community: housing, Medicaid, & youth programming — but two issues stood out: mental health & addiction.

Over 40 leaders came together in Dakota County — and another 40+ in Blaine — to share what’s at stake for us in this political moment. Together, these members of the Muslim Coalition of ISAIAH are shaping a shared agenda, and building the plan to WIN it! ✨

It doesn’t have to be this way.

💬 Contact your Congressmembers and tell them: protect Minnesotans’ healthcare over billionaire tax breaks! 💵

Who bears the brunt?

🧵 Thanks to Republican-led federal changes:

⚠️ 89,000+ Minnesotans will see premiums rise 54% on average
⚠️ 62,000+ may drop private coverage, and 140,000 lose Medicaid
⚠️ Minnesota families forced to choose between healthcare and groceries
⚠️ Delayed care drives up costs for everyone
“Everyday
Minnesotans will face an average $2,000
spike to their health insurance in 2026.” With a money bag emoji behind it.

“Why? Republicans are pushing to cut healthcare funding, kicking some off their healthcare and raising
premiums for others.” With an angry emoji behind it. MPR news
Minnesota health insurance premiums will rise sharply in 2026
Health insurance premiums for thousands of Minnesotans will increase in 2026 due to rising health care costs and uncertainty around the future of enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies, which are currently set to expire at the end of the year.
President Donald Trump's extensive tax and spending package did not allocate funds for enhanced premium tax credits. However, Congress still has the opportunity to reinstate these subsidies this fall.

🚨 Right now, Congress has a decision to make: protect billionaires’ tax breaks or protect people’s healthcare.

📣 110 Minnesota faith leaders joined together with a message for our Minnesota Congressmembers: It’s not too late. Do the right thing and protect Medicaid.

If Congress passes the bill as-is:
⚠️ 140,000 Minnesotans lose healthcare
⚠️ ACA premiums for 90,000 Minnesotans could spike 50%

“I have a reoccurring tumor on my spine,” said Kids Count on Us leader Karin Swenson. “It scares me — but this healthcare system scares me just as much.”

🧵This week, dozens of Rochester ISAIAH leaders demanded a federal budget that protects Minnesotans — not one that cuts Medicaid, the ACA, and SNAP to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. 💥

📢 Minnesotans deserve a budget that puts people first. Call Congress and demand better!

The bill Republicans passed earlier this year would make the largest cuts in history to programs families depend on, while adding $3.4 trillion to the deficit and handing $75 billion to ICE.

🧵 Today at the MN State Capitol, U.S. Senator Tina Smith stood with 110 clergy leaders from across faith, race, and place to demand a federal budget that protects healthcare — not one that cuts Medicaid, the ACA, and SNAP just to fund tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy.
