Today, the UN officially designated Israel’s assault on Gaza as a genocide.

As a party to the Genocide Convention, the U.S. has a legal obligation to obey our own laws, stop weapons sales to Israel, and demand a permanent ceasefire.

End the genocide. Ceasefire now.

257. The Commission recommends that all Member States:
(a) Employ all means reasonably available to them to prevent the commission of genocide in the Gaza Strip;
(b) Cease the transfer of arms and other equipment or items, including jet fuel, to the State of Israel or third States where there is reason to suspect their use in military operations that have involved or could involve the commission of genocide;
(c) Ensure individuals and corporations in their territories and within their jurisdiction are not involved in the commission of genocide, aiding and assisting the commission of genocide or incitement to commit genocide and investigate and prosecute those who may be implicated in these crimes under international law;
(d) Facilitate the investigations and domestic proceedings and take action (including imposing sanctions) against the State of Israel and against individuals or corporations that are involved in or facilitating the commission of genocide or incitement to commit genocide;
(e) Cooperate with the investigation of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
258. The Commission recommends that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court:
(a) Examine, within its continuing investigation in the Situation in the State of Palestine, the crime of genocide for amendment to existing arrest warrants and addition to future application for arrest warrants;
(b) Examine the involvement of officials mentioned in this report for inclusion as those most responsible for international crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Final question is about @dexanderson.com’s complaint about the Feminist Caucus and party infighting. She says infighting wastes energy, and doesn’t like it, but that transphobia, and the caucus leader who did it, has no home in the party!

Final two questions! Another Israel one asking to spend money on issues here instead of their war. She agrees, says will work with anyone, like her support for MTG’s recent attempted amendment to redirect funds to national stuff.

Next was a request to send more letters to agencies doing bad things, and CC the media. She laughed it off, saying it feels like the only thing she does is send strongly worded letters. Said the letters don’t do anything cause the administration doesn’t respond to them and ignores follow-up requests

I missed bits of the next one, but it sounded like someone’s daughter was dying due to bad medical recommendations from an AI, wants to know what Omar is doing. She says AI, and anything internet related, is hard to legislate because of First Amendment, working with constitutional lawyers on it.

Next question was about money in politics, how to donate, who are the ‘good PACs’. She said direct to individual candidates is best, or groups fighting Citizens United if you want money out of politics.

She was asked if the right to vote is at risk, said yes and no. Marginalized groups that were already losing their vote will be more heavily impacted, but thinks it won’t let it be fully stripped from us. Says she might be naive, but has faith in the people and institutions.

Asked about the Epstein files, she says they are coming, but likely heavily redacted, and will be job to sort through that. Wants public to know who all the pedophiles are, but doubts Trump loses any support even if he is on the list.

Next is a question about what she is doing for veterans, says she and Klobuchar had a round table with vets recently, continuing to listen to what they need.

Then she is asked when will Dems do more. Says they are holding rallies. Wants to find moments when things can be meaningful.
