Often ranting about TfL's worst Cycleway (#Cycleway1). Tens of thousands of potential cycle journeys are lost every day because huge compromise were made.
Good old #Cycleway1. Driver blocking contraflow lane with parked car and other cars blocking ambulance on emergency call. But at least they've resurfaced the road! Thanks a bunch @hackneycouncil.bsky.social and TfL for this dreadful Cycleway route. This is fit for purpose is it @willnorman.co.uk?

I’m old enough to remember when roads were used for getting to places, and not for storing something which on average is only used 4% of the time. What happened?

A route is only as useful and inviting as its weakest part. And #Cycleway1 has an abundance of weak sections! Fancy crossing this road and negotiating your way down this side road with your loved ones by bicycle? No? Me neither. @willnorman.co.uk thinks it's fine!

Obviously glad to see another tinkering of a section of the #Cycleway1 route, but this part is very poorly managed @hackneycouncil.bsky.social! Narrow pavements and "cyclists dismount" signs are well below par in this day and age. @willnorman.co.uk

Weaving between bins and poorly parked vans, lorries mounting traffic islands because of other poorly parked vans, and having to filter on the right due to parked cars, aren't things we should have to encounter on a TfL funded Cycleway. #Cycleway1

It's got the point now on some sections of #Cycleway1 where you'd surely feel embarrassed to drive a car, being vastly outnumbered by people on bicycles, and obstructing those behind you who would otherwise be able to go quicker. Even in the rain!

Oh man, this new bike of mine is a beast, even by Gazelle’s standards! A comfy, practical and hardworking beast. Only my second Gazelle bike, but can’t see myself getting any other make of bike ever again.

So close! There's hardly a person on Earth who'd expect that to happen! Doesn't even look like a school bus! Good thing I was going a sensible speed. Terrible judgement from the driver.

Yesterday at the same junction in Stamford Hill where a driver crashed into me in July. So many drivers do not understand what giving way means.

Why do we allow roads like this to exist in modern cities? Huge chasms which divide communities wherein which people walking are subjected to standing on tiny islands between roaring single occupancy cars. It's a disgrace
