Cycleway, my arse!

Often ranting about TfL's worst Cycleway (#Cycleway1). Tens of thousands of potential cycle journeys are lost every day because huge compromise were made.
Why should hardworking tax payers subsidise those pootling around the countryside on weekends in their fancy cars?

Every photo posted of a newly built protected cycle track makes me realise how much we're missing out. I cannot fathom how we ended up with this sorry excuse for a Cycleway, instead of what is being built elsewhere in London. #Cycleway1 bsky.app/profile/issa...
A route is only as useful and inviting as its weakest part. And #Cycleway1 has an abundance of weak sections! Fancy crossing this road and negotiating your way down this side road with your loved ones by bicycle? No? Me neither. @willnorman.co.uk thinks it's fine!

Hackney has squandered available funds on schemes which fall well under par and below design standards. Hackney wasted a massive opportunities to create meaningful schemes at Downham Rd and Pembury Circus, and delivered watered down schemes which maintain the status quo (motor traffic domination).

"You can’t just build a neighborhood and then figure out how people will get to and from it… If we’re to provide housing that’s affordable to everyone, accessible and sustainable, then we must invest in cycling and public transport. And €1 billion is a pretty big statement of intent." bit.ly/48lM5xC

Fascinating! I presumed they'd last longer than 20-30 years. Good to know they're made in Yorkshire.
