The gun the gestapo would point at you, they would point at me, too. I'm a child of immigrants. I thought I could be safe walking around with my birth certificate in my pocket but a guy had those papers on him last week and got yoked up and arrested anyway.

Didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry.

When it comes to the 13 keys to the white house, it was 7 for dems, 6 for GOP. If Biden ran, or if he stepped down as president so Harris ran as incumbent instead, then it would've been 8 for dems, 5 for GOP. Much less likely that the GOP would've won the WH.

I'm not trying to downplay the legacy of political badness in this country. More boiling it down to the constants throughout history when it comes to WH elections, is all.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying.

I mentioned RBG because she decided to ride or die her SCOTUS seat instead of trying to pass the torch when she had the opportunity. And the state of SCOTUS is a big part of our current problem.

Those two decisions put us on a path that has never ended in a victory for the incumbent party. A lot of factors goes into the outcome of an election, but in terms of just how history has gone, that's the analysis I got (from observing Allan Lichtmann).

We're talking online, so a lot gets lost. Please bear with me. I don't think we're at odds.

I'm blaming Biden for losing the White House because he chose not to step down (to let Harris run as an incumbent) and because he chose not to run for re-election (to have the incumbent be the candidate)

Arguably the most technical shmup ever made.

Every bullet you shoot, every item you pick up (or don't), every extend gained (or lost) impacts the whole rest of your run.

And the music...

I would also blame folks like RBG who helped facilitate this mess when they could've worked to actively prevent it.

We have a rogue executive plus two other branches not doing their jobs in keeping him in check.

Either Biden should've been on the ticket, or he should've stepped down with enough time left for Harris to run as the incumbent rather than as a new candidate.

One of those would've meant one less key against a Dem win. He chose neither, and guaranteed the loss against the most consistent analysis

As that shadow grows to envelop more and more of us, I understand where you're coming from.

But the failure to keep the WH the last election falls on Biden more than anyone else.

The incumbent party running a non-incumbent candidate has lost 100% of the time, throughout American history.

Thanks, I was about to ask everyone else to pause their downloads for a bit so mine could go faster than 112 kb/sec. The internet archive upload started and finished in the time it took me to type this post 😊

This is the IRL equivalent of an online ranked match ending early because your opponent got so mad at getting their ass beat so hard that they quit instead of sitting through the KO screen.

Unfortunate result, yet a Merry Christmas indeed! The new boo sucks!!!🤣🤣😈

am I sweating because I'm holding seven-deuce offsuit, or because I'm one mistimed clutch kick away from tumbling down the side of Mt. Akina? 🤔

In exchange for more generality, doing AI "right" just costs more for a worse result than simply working with the people whose style or whatever you like.

Or it's cheaper cause you didn't give them another option and the job market is shit

Cyberpunk 2077 maxed out with path tracing is now 100+ fps no matter what.

The amount of perf I was leaving on the table is almost criminal

Don't gotta find/pay for a parking spot, don't gotta chain it up and risk getting stolen or vandalized. Just pull up the handle and roll it in with you wherever you're going.

I miss my EUCs

The ill shit that should be discussed more is electric unicycles. They've quietly iterated over the past decade to do like 50+ mph now, they got fancy suspension systems etc., but nobody talks about them.

They are a cheat code for going from A to B within a city/downtown

I think a big thing is that at the end of the day, if I create a successful-enough song, I wouldn't mind asking the copyright owner for forgiveness or whatever, and if I don't then they probably don't care. e.g. Lord Finesse vs. Mac Miller

With AI that don't happen, except I guess disney shit now..

I agree. The main thing keeping me alive at this point despite everything is my desire to combine my experiences, knowledge, and interests in the way only I can, or would.

Knowledge is power, and also life
