1,000 albums in a year (6/1000)

Look Up - Ringo Starr

I've never known an album to so closely match my expectations. Starr goes country. A collection of middle-of-the-road inoffensive songs. Listenable but in no way memorable.

1,000 albums in a year (5/1000)

Who Let The Dogs Out - Lambrini Girls

The less I say about this, probably the better. It is critically acclaimed by some, which doesn't surprise me.

Nonetheless – Pet Shop Boys

A good album that shows they are still capable of writing a catchy tune. A few really good songs. No absolute stand outs but still an enjoyable listen.

What A Devastating Turn of Events - Rachel Chinouriri

A decent indie pop album with R&B elements. Lacks any standout moments but not bad at all. Can see why it’d appeal to others but I didn’t feel much connection to the music.

1,000 albums in a year (2/1000)

Blood Sugar Sex Magik - Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Not a huge fan of the slap bass funk. Tried to be objective but the album tracks were a little weak, for me. A few good tracks, and of course, the incredible Under The Bridge.

Close To You - Carpenters

A great one to start with. A beautiful album whose charm goes well beyond the infamous singles. A lovely listen throughout.

Well today starts my quest to review 1,000 albums this year. Will most likely start off with a few I missed in 2024 before moving on to a mix of older albums and 2025 releases.

I've asked for suggestions before, but always feel free to throw more my way. Happy new year!

A decent year for music, I'd say. Great albums from new artists were a little thin on the ground, but plenty of great ones from established bands. Still waiting for that next world class rock band to come. Hopefully 2025 will be the year!

Which song do you think is the epitome of rock. Not any sub genres, just pure 100% uncut rock. For me, it's this:

Amazing response to this, thank you. Every single suggestion will be added to my listen-to list. I'll then be selecting albums at random from said list.

If you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it.
Next year, I'm going to challenge myself to listen to 1,000 albums across the 365 days.

Are there any albums (any genre) that I should add to my list that aren't as well-known as they should be? As one rule I have is that all those 1,000 albums need to be ones I've not listened to before.

What's everyone's favourite album so far this year?

It's that time of year when I want to make sure I've not missed any great records! #Music #MusicSky

If you're not in the mindset to listen to songs about not being there for a loved one when they pass away, a death of a brother you'll never get over, war, and lost love, it's one to avoid.

But when you're emotionally ready, you'll enjoy a masterpiece.

Oh, you "heard" there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord? Cite your sources, bro. This is how misinformation spreads
