Next time you a fantasy cast, send me some iso Zencaster Magic tracks and the original iso audio and I can give a listen. I think the problems will be the same: Running any batch of cleanup/dynamic plugins hard enough to be effective for most podcasts means just brute-forcing most audio into "okay."

I processed less on this one, but all that wound up doing was adding time on the edit. I did a side-by-side of the lightly processed Riverside Magic version and one where I took our original sourced tracks ran them through my default plugins, and even a slop pass of the latter is SO much richer.

Cable is dying, and Hallmark remains primarily linear play. Other cable channels aren’t their competition, fact that people just don’t watch payTV is. They’re an indie, not part of larger conglomerate, and they miscalculated with relaunch of their streamer last year. Smaller expected, but half is 😬

Would be curious to hear from any of our Hallmark insiders why this is happening, but a good placeholder guess is that Hallmark had already glutted their own market and GAC/Netflix/Amazon/Ion making similar material only worsened the ROI on making more movies than linear time allows you to broadcast
