There is no bottom. 1128 days 22 hours 33 minutes left in this hellscape of an administration. May the odds be ever in your favor.
Today, Trump declared that the nation will host the first-ever “Patriot Games,” an “unprecedented four-day athletic event” featuring high school athletes, one boy and one girl, from each state and territory.

If you think this sounds like The Hunger Games, you're not alone.

Dear Senator @davemccormick.bsky.social,
Seriously? Pete Hegseth? Early reports on your service illustrating the level of political courage Pennsylvanians can expect from you. Less than Susan Collins. Let us know when you find yourself concerned about the Department of Defense.

In what is possibly my most joyful moment as a lawyer, I was just asked to explain the difference between the state and federal court system and why your case ends up one place over another. Assignment: explain “federal question” and “diversity jurisdiction” without unnecessary legal terms… Go!

Eomer said, How is a man to judge what to do in such times?

As he has ever judged, said Aragorn. Good and evil have not changed since yesteryear, nor are they one thing among Elves and another among Men. It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house. JRR Tolkien

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been called “hon,” “sweetie,” or “my dear” by male lawyers, but I’m lucky enough to not to have fought in the bathroom wars. Unsurprising but still despicable.
When women first tried to break down barriers to work as lawyers at the large New York firms, they were turned down and the reason given was that "there are no bathrooms for you."
