“When women are free to make their own decisions about their lives and to follow our dreams, we are unstoppable.”
- Cecile Richards
We could have had this for the entire country. It was part of their platform. But “eggs were too high.”
The goal of our nation-leading Child Tax Credit is simple: lift kids out of poverty and get money back to working families.

Last year, nearly 225,000 families claimed the Child Tax Credit and saw an average total credit of $2,500.

I really don’t understand what Congress is doing. Every act Trump performs is more impeachable than the first time he was impeached. He’s literally destroying the country.

As a high school history teacher, I will forever scream that CRT is not taught at K-12 public schools.

They just don’t want us teaching how racist white people were throughout most of this country’s existence (actual history) and how it’s orders like this that enforce that it hasn’t changed much.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Donald Trump is going to be “ending funding for public schools” if they teach CRT or “other divisive measures.”

It’s almost like we warned them that Donald Trump was a total fascist who wants to erase and rewrite history.

Jim Acosta just powerfully announced on air he is leaving CNN with the words: "It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant." He added, "Don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope." Amen. Jim will be missed.

As a government/history teacher, this is embarrassing. My students even know that a president’s powers are limited and he can’t just “fire whoever he wants in the executive branch.”
This is insane: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is making it clear that Donald Trump is not a president but a king.

I visited Auschwitz this past summer. It was the most somber day, but as a history teacher it was important that I visited to learn more and pay my respects. #HolocaustRememberanceDay

Having Beshear so low is wild to me. As a Kentuckian, there is a reason he is beloved amongst democrats and republicans. The DNC would be a bunch of idiots not to get him as a front runner.
Analysis by Aaron Blake: There’s a vacuum just waiting (and needing) to be filled — and probably, in 2028, we may see the most wide-open Democratic presidential nominating contest since at least 2004.

Here are the contenders who could fill it.

Trump is still having political rallies. Hitler also had rallies when in power.

America can’t catch a break. Trump is president and is nuts. Eagles and Chiefs are in the Super Bowl.

Two of my former english teachers are Trump supporters. I read 1984 in one class and Animal Farm in the other. I just don’t get it.

Just a reminder that the Coast Guard Admiral that Trump fired because he said Linda Fagen was a DEI hire (aka she’s a woman) has more experience leading people and just being in the military than Pete Hegseth.

I hate Mitch McConnell as much as the next liberal Kentuckian, but for once I can actually be happy with one of my senators.

Man, I can’t wait until an Obama third term.

The USSR was responsible for an est. 20 million civilian deaths during just Stalin’s reign. That’s not even including the 25 million (not 60) who starved to death or were poorly trained soldiers in WWII. More died from poor leadership than Germans. Trump doesn’t know anything about Russian history.
Donald Trump is begging Putin to stop the war in Ukraine.

This is what weak leadership looks like.

Jesus was a refugee and fled persecution. This is widely believed in most Christian denominations due to it being in the Book of Matthew.

I hope all the white women who voted for him know that this applies to them also. These are the protections that also protect you from being fired if you are pregnant.
President Donald Trump issued a broad executive order ending antidiscrimination practices in federal hiring, reversing a nearly 60-year precedent and launching a significant step forward in his agenda to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in federal government.

“Trump fired Adm. Fagan because he labeled her as a DEI hire because she’s a woman, even though she had been in the Coast Guard for 32 years and was confirmed by Congress” There. Fixed the headline.
The Trump administration has ousted the Coast Guard’s top admiral, Adm. Linda Fagan, who in 2022 became the first woman to lead a branch of the U.S. military.

The move could be the first of several changes to military leadership under the new commander in chief.
