I just spent the last week in Singapore, and I’m terrible at posting while I am away, especially during work trips.
Life is experiential, so I take the little time I get to go out, enjoy, feel, taste and see.

Tomorrow morning I will post a review of a successful South Indian stalwart of a restaurant run for close to a century by three generations of the same family, and I’ll tell you why the “legendary” hype might be just that. Hype.

We made it to Aaraamam Restaurant, but decided to leave. Indeed the food sounded good but what we wanted was not on the lunch menu—and we were here for lunch!
I would rather save the experience for what I want vs settle.

Bread, as it should be, served as a snack, an amuse bouche, as a side, but definitely-repeat, definitely, not as a course during a tasting menu.

A refreshing seabass aguachile from the restaurant girl and the goose in downtown Dubai. The scattering of dried black olives over the raw seabass gave a lovely rounded depth to the dish that was then lifted and refreshed by the cucumber aguachile, and a scoop of jalapeño sorbet.
