I actually looked thru a bunch of other Filipino board game manuals to try and translate 'turn.' Most didn't translate it at all but the ones that did translated it to 'tira,' so I did too.

Here's the interlinear gloss for all of this:

Interlinear gloss of 'Maligayang pasko': 'ligaya' is the root, meaning 'joy,' 'happiness,' 'merriment.' 'ma-' is an adjectivizer prefix (ADJZ); 'maligaya' means 'happy,' 'merry.' '-ng' is an enclitic, connecting an adjective and a noun. 'Pasko' is Filipino for 'Christmas.' The translation is 'Merry Christmas!'

I'm trying a new thing.

Trying to translate Magic cards into Filipino (which isn't an official language that they've ever published in) so that I get better at Filipino.

At least once a day, I should have *some* progress on it, and today I translated the parts of a Magic card:
Table of the names of parts of Magic: the Gathering cards (which itself was translated as 'Mga bahagi ng baharang Magic) and attempted translations into Filipino. 'Name' was translated into 'pangalan,' with notes that it's a common word for 'name,' and that while the derivation is just this as a root, you could technically analzye it as an archaic alan with an instrumentative prefix 'pang.' 'Mana cost' was translated into 'Pambayad sa mana,' derived as intrumental prefix+'bayad'(payment) - oblique preposition - 'mana' , with notes that I need to be sure that this is how to derive terms in Filipino. 'Type' was translated into 'uri,' with notes that this is maybe closer to 'class' but it's really the only word we have for this sort of thing. 'Text' was translated into 'sabi,' with notes that 'sabi ng card' being 'cardtext' works pretty well. 'Power' was translated into 'lakas.' 'Toughness' was translated into 'tigas,' with notes that there are a bunch of other words I could have used, some of them I just never used before, and that I was considering 'tibay' but I feel like that has a connotation of structural integrity more than being tough itself. 'Loyalty' was translated into 'katapatan,' derived as the collective affixes+'tapat'(loyal) 'Defense" was translated into 'Pananggol,' derived as instrumental prefix + tanggol(defend)
