Regarding the 1990 Giants, the NFL did not announce that NYG had clinched until after Week 12, however, they were already assured of being no worse than the 3rd Wild Card the week before (Week 11). The ‘90 Giants are the only team in the Super Bowl era to clinch a playoff berth with 6 weeks to play.
