I like baseball, but not the Dodgers. But how can you not root for Ohtani?! He has been epic all season, post-season, and definitely in this last game. Just WOW.

People are going to be writing books about Ohtani. Expertise. Practice. Focus. Performance under pressure. He'll be his own MBA course.

Taking a page out of Sarah Glassmeyer's book, I'm bringing my bonus mom with me to the American Legal Technology Awards in Boston. (And I'll finally see Fenway Park! No game, just a tour.)

I've got strong opinions on this whole "vibe coding" thing, so I'm going to see what it's all about. Are my opinions grounded in reality? We'll see! Started playing with Replit last night. Any advice?

A Monday gift to me: I just made a new Excel fan out of my colleague, Hana Zumout! This may be my peak achievement in life.

If you attended the @carolynelefant.bsky.social / MyShingle AI Teach-In day, will you please recommend sessions to watch? If I can only watch 2-4 of them, what would you choose? I don't want to build my on GPT or talk ethics. Looking for practical tips on general tools.

Here's a term I've seen a lot lately: "Information-adjacent."

I *love* this. I'm going to to steal it and use it everywhere. I hope it takes off like "truthiness" from Colbert Report.

I'm currently obsessing over the concepts of far transfer and worked examples (as applied to legal writing and reading). Please recommend articles and books for my reading list.

(Learning about stuff is my coping mechanism. Let me have it.)

The everyone is cheating their way through college article that has been terrifying writing folk all week is so hard for me to wrap my head around. I understand that many people don't care about learning and our systems don't reward it, but I struggle to understand how individuals wound up here.

I am attempting to write a blog about LLM "reasoning." But every time I catch up on reading the scientific research papers, a new one comes out! Keeping up with generative AI developments is becoming a full time job.

The latest Naomi S. Baron book is finally here! I pre-ordered months ago and I've been impatiently waiting. Book club, anyone?

“The problem is that junior lawyers don’t know how to revise... When they do, they spend their effort tinkering with text in ways that do not fundamentally improve it.” Fortunately, @ivybgrey.bsky.social has a roadmap for how to turn novice legal writers into experts: hubs.li/Q03g_8NH0

To become a better legal writer, you must be a better reviser. To do that, you must cultivate new mindsets.

Most people get stuck in an endless loop of surface-level reactive responses to basic questions. They may invest a lot of time, it's just tinkering, so it doesn’t matter very much.

The purpose of the attached article is to prove to scientists that writing will determine their success. That the job of science is the science of writing. I agree with that, but wow do I disagree with how this guy sets out to prove it. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

I don't think any legit media outlet should be allowed to write a piece about any legal document and not link to a free version for the public to read. I shouldn't have to hunt down the original on my own. That's just bad reporting.

I developed a severe sound sensitivity a few years ago. Now it's been nearly 5 years since I could listen to music. I'm also not into sportsball. I am 100% lost on what's going on today (and yesterday). I feel like a space alien who's just fallen from the sky!

I finally crossed ONE thing off the to-do list I made on Friday.

I must be terrible at estimating how much time and effort a project will take. I'm sure this is an improvable skill. How have you improved your ability to estimate task time?
