Elizabeth was the wife of Stanhope. As you can see she also had considerable talent. She also used triangles in her compositions.

In 1994, these remarkable drawings of horses and other animals were among hundreds discovered on the walls of a cave now known as the Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc Cave, in southeastern France, now a World Heritage site. The drawings have been dated as being about 30,000 years old

Rockhounding in Gotland, Sweden. We made a few trips there, this time with my youngest aunt. Lots of historic villages, old churches, rare plants, great beaches and coastal formations. Gotland's fossiliferous beaches piqued my early interest in historical geology. About 1988 or 1989.

From over 100 years ago, two photographs of painters on riverbanks created by Lumière Bros' Autochrome process ~ it automatically produced dream-like, light-filled colour images without artificial colourising, & was the main colour photography process used before 1930s (Courtellemont/Personnaz)

Not a Lumiere autochrome from the early 1900's but three of my younger cousins exploring backyard wilderness, maybe summer 1991. Photo reproduced from my family archives.

My grandfather practically also served as my father too. After getting widowed in 1981 (losing his wife to a brain tumour) he had much time for me and his daughters' families, taking the role of social, always available and dedicated "pater familias" when retiring in 1992. (This photo taken 2010).
