My Amelanchier canadensis bloomed 🤩 I just planted it in the fall. So excited to see the early spring blooms, and that my hard work is paying off!!

Plant a native plant or tree to start helping the butterflies and moths' recovery. Even 1 new one helps! Or Volunteer in a native plant garden if you don't have land/space of your own.
For every 5 butterflies seen 20 years ago, now there are only 4. While a few species have actually increased, many more have declined—some dramatically. Of 554 species, 107 declined by over 50%.
Even still, providing habitat & reducing pesticides can change things!

Good news 🦋
This year's eastern monarch survey, by @worldwildlife.org & Mexican conservationists, found butterflies covering trees across 4.42 acres of forest. This is more than last year (2.22 acres; the 2nd worst on record), but far from the 15+ that was once common. Learn more 🦋 xerces.org/press/number...
