I only read the 1st book, but what I got from it is that the Fremen religion is a plaything of and a convenient tool for the Bene Gesserit.

i'd probably advise on holding off til next year honestly. Paradox games tend to take time to shape up, and this one has had a somewhat rough launch. Its not broken, but like it needs time to cook. You just seem like the kind of guy who 1) would enjoy alt history narratives and 2) likes complexity

*whispering like the devil in your ear*: Have you tried Europa Universalis 5

empire and chaos dwarfs are both fine picks but gotta admit i prefer chaos dwarfs, something about their aesthetic just appeals more, and i think the doomquake mortar making units go splat is fun. Their machines are also really cool looking

another thing to point out is that 20$ a month is not remotely enough, they need to force users to pay per prompt for their business model to remotely be workable, and even then depending on how variable cost per prompt is, that still might not be enough

does changing interest group power and passing laws to reflect the kind of society you want to see not interest you? Because that's a big part of what I like about Victoria 3. I like creating a liberal Sokoto, or going with an extremely autocratic Ottoman absolutism.

I have 1400 hours on Victoria 3 and conservatively, probably ten times that on Civ4 (I've had it for like over a decade and it was my game of choice before I discovered paradox grand strategy)

"the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent" is a tried and true adage for a reason

the twist is great, but telling me "btw, the library can fuck with you and lie" and then introducing another species and also a dead brother who isn't dead and is maybe a villain and a head librarian who isn't human, its way too much.

This extends to the deeper mysteries of the setting. There's so much exploration done of the library and its ability to span time and dimensions, but not that much concrete established and no idea how much of it is true

why does the fmc become a time ghost possessing a robot to raise the mc and his foster siblings as a mother figure stand in. Is it weirder that the guy who takes the father figure role is the time ghost of the fmc's guardian figure?

the end result is that everything about this book is baffling in a bad way. Why does the fmc meet the mmc when she's 13 and he's 20 if you're just gonna use time travel to shrink the age gap to make it socially acceptable for them to date? why is there psuedoincest w/ mmc and his foster sister

If you want a big pool of crown estate characters to assign to positions and have decent options to pick from you need to actively be marrying them yourself, and for a game that prides itself on automation, it sucks this must be done manually
