Dumbest thing I heard today on the course from a random group…

“Parasite is only good because of the ending.”

Just had a micro-retirement last week when I went to Seabrook. Might do another later this summer.

Haha. This is insane. It's called "vacation".
What is a micro-retirement? Inside the latest Gen Z trend
Burned out and ladened with debt Gen-Z is getting a jump on retirement by going on short unpaid breaks from work: "micro-retirements."

I started the year with a goal to read about 15 books and now that we are halfway, I’m at 11!

Here’s what I’ve read…

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Range by David Epstein

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg

Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen

I used to drive over Coldwater Canyon every day to work. Oftentimes would pass by Jay Leno (driving a different car every time). I’d wave. He’d wave back.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

My home practice setup continues to expand. Wish I had a permanent spot at home but only takes 5-10mins to setup.

Yes, I was lucky enough to get a Switch 2 pre-order. No, I won't be taking questions at this time.

Andrew Chen, co-founder of one of my favorite denim brands, 3sixteen, breaks down how the tariffs affect his company

The tariffs are 100% a way for corporations to raise prices massively. The tariffs will go away but they won’t drop their prices.

Be ready for record profits at the expense of everyone.
Car salesman at a local Hyundai dealership today, after I asked him about the tariffs:

"It's terrible. The price of every vehicle is going to go up five or six thousand dollars... And here's the thing, even after they go away, think about it, they're not going to come back down again."

My top 10 in no particular order:
Resident Evil 4
Bioshock
The Witcher 3
Super Mario World
Ocarina of Time
Breath of the Wild
Goldeneye
The Last of Us
God of War
Half-Life 2

So many more that could make this list depending on what I remember.
My top 10 games of all time.

Golf is so dumb. Hit the ball super well for my first real round of the year. Hit one off the pin from 151 yards. 12” from dunking it for an eagle hole out.

But I chunked 4 chips so bad the ball literally moved 2” total.

The Brutalist is a lot of movie.

Oh and it’s 215mins long.

This TGL thing is kinda awesome.

Man, the Sentry lacks so much juice with no Scottie, Rory, or Spieth. Add in the missing LIV guys like Hatton, Bryson, Brooks, Niemann, and Rahm.

Pro golf needs to figure out a way to merge things back together and get the best playing each other at more events than just the majors.

Attending the ball drop in Times Square is maybe the thing I want to attend least in life. Ugh. Why would anyone want to attend that?

Big success!

“That was the sound of a tool chest… falling down the stairs.”

One of my favorite lines in any movie.

My kids have watched me play some of the new Indiana Jones game over the last few weeks and were interested in seeing the movies.

So, we’ve watched Raiders and Last Crusade now and man, so much fun to watch with them. Last Crusade in particular had my youngest enthralled and it’s my favorite.

I love a good end of year list about everyone’s favorite things from the year. I’ll use this thread to post some of my favorite stuff from the last year over the next few weeks. But share stuff with me!

Didn’t play much that was released in 2024 besides Echoes of Wisdom. Tears and Wonder are bangers.

Also, played a bunch of Metroid Prime Remastered, which is so good. Gotta finish that before prime 4 hits.

Enjoyed Juror #2. A good, but not great film. Very simple and very contrived premise that presents some interesting discussions around the justice system.

Weird to potentially be Eastwood's final film. And the distribution plan is bizarre, since it was barely in theaters.

Thoroughly enjoying Black Doves. Lots of good action. Complicated characters and plot. I think we have one more episode and very intrigued to see how this wraps up. Will there be more???

It’s on Netflix.
