Performance is always a complicated equation of what the artists want to play, what they need to play and what their audience wants to hear. It very rarely results in a top to bottom mind blowing experience. But it doesn't need to. Music is about moments. Sometimes many moments strung together.
I, too, was cranky about nostalgia/album plays when they began in earnest about a decade ago. But then I went to see Astral Weeks, Pet Sounds, Deserter's Songs, etc performed by their composers and they were (mostly!) marvelous.

Posting this mess here since it’s all basically strangers. Last time I was without a beard was 2019. Needed to shave it for a surprise cameo in our school production of “Romeo and Juliet” (Doc Brown doesn’t have a beard). I hate it and want it back immediately.
