Ex-journo, charity PR; bereft carer waking to a world beyond a dining room that became a dying room furnished only by a hospital bed. Tiny steps, folks, tiny steps. And many trip wires...

👀📺This Sunday on BBC 1 Hamza’s Hidden Wild Isles series is starting, looking at some of the more hidden, elusive & hard to see wildlife - it was a pleasure working with Hamza & the crew earlier in the year to capture footage of some of the more elusive species present in the #LDV.

In other words, he promised repeatedly during the campaign he had a secret plan to end the war in 24 hours and he was just bullshitting everyone because he doesn’t have the first clue what to do, he gave away all negotiating leverage months ago, and his special envoy is a dope.

Former BBC executive & TV presenter Alan Yentob died at age 78.

What are your memories of Alan Yentob?

The first time I came across him was during BBC comedy series W1A where he was arm wrestling with Salman Rushdie.

A new David Attenborough documentary is always an event, but I think that Ocean really is something innovative and different. I've seen some clips, and it tells a critical & unseen story (plus spectacular photography, of course). It'll be in cinemas from May 8th. Do go!

Pun my word, the BBCR4 Today team have been doing their bit (and some really shouldn't have bothered, Nick...) for #UKPunDay. It was claimed that punning goes right back to the ancient Egyptians.
I Sphinx not.

And that she's been styled the "Bishop of Negativity". Lone voice of faithful dissidence. Nothing changes.
Radio 4 on the other site have shared a clip of the Bishop of Newcastle being interviewed on Today. It ends with the really sad comment that while she’s had hundreds of letters of support, when she has seen other bishops recently they have avoided speaking to her.

Excellent interview with the Bishop of Newcastle Helen-Ann Hartley, a lone voice calling for the Archbishop of York to quit for turning a blind eye to child abuse and calling CofE leadership an old boys' club. Joke of an organisation. Good for her. #r4today
