As a teacher… many parents aren’t doing any teaching at home either because they can’t (intellectually) or they don’t have the time. I had a conference with a parent 2 days ago & after all teachers laid out their concerns, the mom said she had hella kids & no time so what are we (teachers) gonna do?
At some point, we’re going to collectively get invested in the education of our children and stop leaving everything up to teachers.
It’s impossible for them to fight (and win) every battle. Some of this could be nipped in the bud with guidance and redirection at home.
