Nope. It's not obvious. Not to a lot of people. I was told to my face my kids would be left behind because I insist they do the work and not rely on ai for answers. I am holding them back by not embracing advanced technology.

Art is an act of hope. Writing is an act of rebellion. The world will always need more stories--from real human beings, not bullshit plagiarism machines. Every book is a love story from the author, and every reader is fighting the war against cruelty, ignorance, and hopelessness. We are fighting.

This is the thread I needed to hear today. Publishing is in the darkest moment I've seen in 14 years. I'm struggling, my friends are struggling, the industry is struggling. When writers gather together, we whisper our fears. All we want is to keep publishing, but there are no guarantees, these days.

"Summarise text" AI summed it up leaving our references to the minority.

Or... Play "Every time I use an adverb, everybody drinks!" (Don't do this. You'll die.)

- there is definitely some benefit to knowing when and how to use them. Lol

This is the way the world ends: Not with a bang but through sheer stupidity. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yep. But good news there's room on my shelf for more books, maybe in February... ;)

I knew about most of the ones in the comments but a couple have resulted in new space on my shelves once I verified it. There are many better authors to fill that space.

And conference buffet 101: when they announce it's break time bolt out like there is no tomorrow to get first pick of the food that no one else has puddled through.

My Grandma taught me that. ;)
