Trump is calling for the use of Active Duty troops in US cities in direct violation of Posse Comitatus. Military occupation of domestic cities is authoritarianism 101.
Trump: "The ones that are run by radical left Democrats -- what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They're very unsafe places & we're gonna straighten them out one by one. This is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That's a war too. It's war from within"

Rules of engagement are set to ensure our military follows the Law of Armed Conflict and protects civilians. Hegseth is calling for committing war crimes and violations of law.
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."

Inspectors General provide important oversight and investigate fraud, waste, and abuse. Democracies need oversight to prevent abuses in power. Removing the watchdogs is one more aspect of authoritarianism.
Trump administration moves to defund inspector general watchdog group
The decision marks the latest example of the administration’s push to limit government oversight activities.

There’s no legal mechanism under current U.S. law for a president to designate a domestic group as a terrorist organization. Also, Antifa (short for anti-fascist) is not a formal organization.

When presidents call movements “terrorist orgs” without legal basis, they aren’t fighting terror—they’re building authoritarian “security services” to crush critics. That’s what Trump is signaling with “Antifa.” Read our letter to SSCI and HPSCI here.

🚨 🚨 🚨 Did JD Vance just call Newsom and Democrats domestic terrorists? His claim that Democrats’ rhetoric “encourages crazy people to go and commit violence” mirrors the language in Trump’s EO designating ANTIFA as a terrorist organization (“radicalizing young Americans to engage in this violence”).
JD Vance: "When Democrats like Gavin Newsom say these people are part of an authoritarian government, when the left-wing media lies about what they're doing and who they're arresting and the actual job of law enforcement, what they're doing is encouraging crazy people to go and commit violence."
