Weird that there’s no video of all these protestors attacking ICE with rocks and bottles and shooting at them with fireworks. You would think DHS and its teams of videographers would have captured some of that terrible violence against ICE officers.

A lot going on here, but a religion note: DHS Assistant Sec. Tricia McLaughlin refers to Rev. Black as a "pastor" here — using quotation marks.

It's a notable slight against a faith leader's status, as Black is, in fact, an ordained minister of a church operating within the Presbytery of Chicago.
This footage is from almost a month ago. What this clipped video doesn’t show is that these agitators were blocking an ICE vehicle from leaving the federal facility—impeding operations.

Over and over again, law enforcement ordered these agitators to move off of federal property so the vehicle could move. Law enforcement verbally warned these agitators that they would use force if they did not move and stop impeding operations. They did not comply.

Shortly after, rioters began throwing rocks, bottles and launching fireworks at the law enforcement officers on the roof.

At the time of this incident, this facility held criminal illegal aliens including gang members, drug traffickers, and other violent criminals. Obstructing law enforcement puts officers, detainees and the public at risk. If you are obstructing law enforcement you can expect to be met with force.

And, as an aside, this is the same “pastor” who flipped

and our team the bird when we were there last week.

Is there one (1) White House press reporter who can just pull out their phone and show Trump a live feed of Portland?

Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

Insanely tone-deaf after coming out of sex abuse-related bankruptcy proceedings.

“We gave the abuse victims $20 million, so it’s fine if Bishop Barron just takes a little ol’ $10 mil or so for a fancy new house and office.”

I can’t decide if I want to read the Bible annotated with Herman Melville-related commentary, or Moby-Dick annotated with theological commentary.

We’re being governed by a tv star and his army of podcasters and streamers. Everything is about content.

ICE is not only chasing down every random brown person in Chicago, they have a cameraman following them to film this for social media. Cruelty and inhumanity as content.

Part of growth is accepting that all the cool shit is behind you, and that your current responsibilities are painful, tedious and not at all exciting.

Is it more fun to cosplay soldier than to have a meeting on financial savings programs for junior enlisted or something? Sure. But it helps nobody.

Oh man, remember the first time we all thought Trump’s support was about to collapse? Remember that time nine years ago?

This South Side Weekly report on the Chicago building raid is well worth reading. Most striking to me are the indications of collusion between federal authorities and the building owner and management to effect a mass eviction at the blighted property. southsideweekly.com/federal-agen...

Has the USCCB ever sued anyone for copyright infringement? Say, if someone did their own printout of the liturgy of the hours, or a non-profit print on demand situation?

The two publishers selected by the @usccbofficial.bsky.social to publish the four volume sets of the upcoming Liturgy of the Hours Second Edition are Ascension Press and Bob Barron's Word On Fire.
