oh yeah elephantasy totally was like that! I enjoyed that and the game speed options you had in it

also I feel like if I do flesh this mechanic out I should have some way to make "long presses" act out advancing two frames instead of just one, or else the whole thing just feels really slow and spammy to control

hell yeah. gravity and jumping makes it kind of feel not great, right now I am taking separate "jump button" or "up arrow" inputs to advance frames upward, but also using those or "down arrow" to apply gravity on a turn by turn basis...

i actually have been sitting on this idea for a while and would love to work on it some time. i think it could really work well.
