Interesting listen. Didn’t know the economics and scalability of carbon *storage* are practically a non-issue
Today on Volts: Iceland's Carbfix carbonates water & injects it deep underground, where the CO2 reacts with minerals & becomes calcium carbonates, ie, rock. It's permanent (& cheap!) carbon sequestration. But can it scale beyond Iceland? Tune in!
The cheapest way to permanently sequester carbon involves ... fizzy water
In Iceland, a company is carbonating water (like with a SodaStream!) and injecting it underground, where the CO2 mineralizes & becomes rock. How much carbon can Iceland store? And will this technique ...

What is common knowledge in your field but shocks outsiders?

More than half the CO₂ emissions of the Industrial Age have been pumped into the atmosphere since 1990.

Literally nothing is 'carbon neutral'. It is a physical impossibility. If someone's telling you their product has zero climate impact, they're actively deciding to lie to you.
