Something of a scientist, definitely a nerd and father.
I was dressed as Santa collecting money the Wakefield Hospice around our village last night in the latest episode of things my wife gets me roped into and:
1. You are never too old for a wave and a Merry Christmas from Santa
2. People with learning disabilities really love Santa, which is adorable

I don’t think that the preparation for the Ashes has been ideal, but the bigger issue is that English cricket needs a Greg Dyke to completely overhaul coaching and develop early talent. Relying on public schools and Yorkshire to provide our entire batting lineup is not sustainable.

I don’t know why these people collaborate. If you aren’t heterosexual, white and Christian then they’ll get round to you.

I think it was probably Trading Places in the UK. I’ve no idea what that means- could be very good or very bad.

The Joshua Paul fight tonight is a completely nonsense but I say this now; if Joshua doesn’t knock him over it’s because he’s being paid not to knock him over in the terms of the purse.

I have actually managed to use co-pilot for two things at work this week which have worked OK. Extracting size information from a spreadsheet without uniform data and summarizing a Teams meeting. Not sure that justifies the immense amount of cash spent on it, but not totally useless.

Just read The Infinite and the Divine by @robertrath.bsky.social It a strange blend of a heist, a buddy narrative, taking place over millennia, as its protagonists are immortal robots. Very enjoyable and recommended.

Pleased that Rory won #Spoty for the career achievement but also because he’s such a grateful, humble and gracious man.

By looking at Facebook today around the snicko drama, I have learned that there are a great many people that don’t understand that light and electricity travel faster than sound.

The bank sent me a Happy Birthday message today in the app. I would have thought they could have stretched to a fiver.

I say this most weeks but #Plur1bus is the best looking this on TV right now. That Manusos travelogue section of the last one was absolutely gorgeous. Well done second unit!

Toffee Crisp never tasted like proper chocolate so this is probably a good thing.

What a record indeed. And her crisps were pretty decent too.

Will this drought in Yorkshire never end? The land is parched and the cattle are suffering*
*According to Yorkshire water who still have a drought order and hosepipe ban in place.

Everything a great collab should be. Top performance from a legend, and the new kids bringing her right up to date (at the time anyway).

I don’t know what this picture is but the way it’s cropped makes it look like a guy standing next to a mecha/robot with a penis cannon. If that’s the Navy’s new strategy, I salute them.

I just came on Bluesky to make this exact point. Disappearing foam and magically topped up lagers all round. Great film though.
I do love Ice Cold In Alex but the continuity errors in the amount of foam of the lagers they've been waiting for the whole film is hilarious
