Well #booksky year five of the Great Books reading list is complete. I listened to a good portion of this year's list, but that worked well enough with the fiction and lecture style readings and provided time to dig into some of the more complex philosophical stuff. Yay 2025.

Finished War & Peace through book 8 (the second half is next year) and Plotinus today. I made the call to add Darwin to the listening list so I think we are in good shape — still challenging. #booksky

I am really digging my car rides listening to this. The author reads his own words to you, which I like, and it captures the serenity of authentic outsider exploration of a foreign space. #booksky

In Canto 12, Virgil and Dante run into Chiron, baddest of the centaurs, but reputed healer in Greek mythology. Reminds me of this most glorious exchange with my son, who is also named James. #booksky
