My wife and I own a small business here in #Canada. While 90% of $ spent in our bakeshop already stays in Canada, in the last 48 hours we have reduced US sourcing by 59% and increased international sourcing by 17%.

Small businesses in Canada can make an impact on the unjustified US tariffs. 💪🍁

Courtrooms are about justice—but they’re also about respect. This is Day 6 of sharing what makes Canada great, and today we’re focusing on language rights and the right to an interpreter in court.

🍁 In Canada, you have the right to an interpreter in court.

1️⃣🧵 🍁 In Canada, we have the right to work without restrictions.

The Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees all Canadians the opportunity to earn a livelihood. Whether starting a business, pursuing your dream career, or switching industries, this right protects your ability to do so freely.

This. When the guys in rich hats acknowledge the fallacy and lunacy of the situation, you know shit got real.

A state of emergency over the drug crisis? Then work together on a mutual solution and start providing support and off-ramps for addicts. Don't destroy trade relations. ffs

I’m going to put my rich guy hat on and say I hope that Mexico and Canada issue equal, retaliatory tariffs and stick to them for an extended period.

I apologize to all the people it will cost money and the businesses it will hurt.

But it’s the only way for tariffs to be seen for what they are

✅ In Canada, governments cannot exceed a five-year term. This limit, protected under the Constitution Act, ensures regular elections & prevents excessive political tenure. It keeps leadership accountable & aligned with the will of the people. 1️⃣🧵

Trump's report card for his day 1 promises, a failing grade on many commitments so far:
❌ Lower grocery prices (the eggs!)
❌ Name Supreme Court nominees
❌ End the invasion of Ukraine
❌ Undo EV "mandates" (that never existed)
❌ Ban teaching CRT in military school (was never part of curriculum)

So far Musk has eliminated programs that help promote diversity (not enforce it) and a few other issues totaling $420 million. This penny initiative is next (which, btw, I support).

But you have to put it into perspective...
Elon Musk’s DOGE is coming for the penny
Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency has a new target to cut down costs: the US penny.

While it started as a joke (we thought) this sentiment has shown exactly how little Trump knows about politics, Canadian culture, the Canadian constitution, and even how to run a country.

This isn't even a real threat. Why does he continue to spit bullshit rather than actually helping US citizens?
‘A country that should be a state’: Trump renews Canada comments in press Q&A
