That's not what the picture is. Don't just repeat what general media says about firearms, 99.9% of them know nothing about the subject. An older converted to 30-06 Mauser that picture isn't. This is more typical of a sporterized Mauser.
September 11, 2025 at 8:17 PM
Could be a Mauser M18, NYPost picture too fuzzy to tell.
September 11, 2025 at 8:04 PM
Could be a Mauser M18 but NYPost picture isn't that clear and in any case a more modern Mauser wouldn't have the same significance as a WWI-WWII era firearm when Mausers were the standard infantry firearm of the German Army.

Doesn't look like an older model, that's someone who assumes that any bolt action not an AR is an 'older model'.
September 11, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Picture on NYPost. Looks like standard modern bolt action rifle not some surplus from 50's/60's. Probably just an internal refence to a Mauser style bolt action rifle that the media ran with as a Mauser branded weapon. Could be a modern Mauser but rare, 1000x more likely to be some other brand.
September 11, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Picture on of the rifle on NYPost. Looks like standard modern bolt action rifle, unclear if it's an actual Mauser or that was just a reference to a standard Mauser style bolt action rifle.

Rifle picture on NYPost. Looks like a standard modern bolt action, probably just someone using short hand Mauser style bolt action when talking about it not necessarily a Mauser branded gun (possible but they are uncommon in the US compared to many other brands of Mauser style bolt action rifles)
September 11, 2025 at 5:55 PM
The initial refence was inaccurate. The picture in the NYPost is a modern bolt action rifle, may not be an actual Mauser brand weapon. Mauser initially developed that particular style of bolt action and many other brands of guns use derivations of that design which are often called Mauser actions.
September 11, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Picture in the NYPost isn't an older model, that's a modern bolt action rifle not some 50's era surplus Mauser. Also not clear if it is an actual Mauser or a just a reference to a Mauser style bolt action rifle at this time, lots of careless info out there atm.
September 11, 2025 at 5:44 PM
The picture in the NYPost isn't clear enough to tell if it's an actual Mauser or if that was just generic reference by someone to a Mauser style bolt action rifle. Lot of sketchy info out there right now.
September 11, 2025 at 5:42 PM
The picture of the rifle in the NYPost is a much more modern hunting/sporting bolt action rifle. Unclear if it's a Mauser branded rifle or if that was just generic refence to a bolt action rifle on the part of law enforcement since most bolt actions were derivations of the original Mauser action.

It’s the NYT and WaPo, they won’t be covering this by Thursday in spite of pretending a private email server is the worst possible malfeasance possible by a public official throughout the entire year in 2016.

This is why. Melania and Ivanka never looked at him like they did at Justin Trudeau. Either that or he’s even more of a Putin servant than it seems which is a lot.

Well 2025 is going to be a great year for cyber criminals. These DOGE idiots hoovering up vast amounts of sensitive data from secure systems and just dumping it into a single probably unsecured data store to try to reason over with AI is the Everest of cybercrime opportunities.
