I honestly don’t reference those regions collectively. In an Indigenous context, happy to use Salish Sea, but that only addresses ocean. Cascadia is ecosystem/watershed/geology term, ie Cascadia bioregion or Cascadia Subduction Zone. As a political/economic union it’s a fantasy.

The PNW is a wholly American concept and invention, comparable to the South, or the Southwest, or the Northeast. I live in Southwestern British Columbia. I don’t live in the Northwest. That ends at Blaine.

Two thoughts: 1. The fact that this is not a huge scandal leading to resignations is evidence of generalized exhaustion and scandal fatigue. 2. Public trust in public institutions is critical to a functioning democracy, and in steep decline, AND THIS IS NOT FUCKING HELPING, PEOPLE.
