OK but I bet the Borg give a lot of time back at the end of their meetings.

Could never be me flying to Tahoe because it's quicker than waiting in line for brunch.

Move over, "One Billion Americans." We're doing "100 million San Franciscans."

Ha! So the email says “anonymous” but the website says “synthetic”.

(Even if so, remains unclear to me that patients understand that they consented to let this company use their data for profit in this transactional way.)

Do these 120 million patients understand that they’ve opted into whatever this is?
I'm the former Associate Director of AI at Stanford Medicine, where I helped build the Stanford Healthcare Datahub that now supports 2,000+ researchers and houses data on over 150M patients.

Over the last three years, I’ve been building a new data platform that generates anonymized real-world health data to safely share/monetize EHRs. We’ve aggregated 120M+ patients’ data and are supporting early adopters at Harvard and Stanford.

I’d love to reconnect and share what we’re building. Your feedback is invaluable.

Would you be open to a quick 20-minute chat next week?

To add to your points: we're not doing physics; you can't generally reason your way through biology.

Do they want us to derive which medications to give from first principles each time?

Do they want us to reason about why there must be 12 cranial nerves, rather than simply memorizing them?

The implication of this article is that 0.005% of the US's annual CO2 emissions are from inhalers (25 million metric tons cumulatively over 10 years, vs 50 billion/year overall).

Conclusive demonstration that the CO2 release from inhalers is totally inconsequential.

Physician certification should not be an ordeal; it is in vast need of improvement.

There is an infinite number of alternative turns of phrase that are not precisely "it's not really up to the doctors" that I would find agreeable. Almost artful to find one I wouldn't agree with.

At the very least, I am hoping that Santa Monica High reintroduced grammar into the curriculum after his time.
