When you own as many black clothes as I do (aging emos die hard 😂) and you live in the UK where there’s currently 9 hours of daylight (and still waning) you sit up in the morning and do your mending #mending 🧶

Finished these a week or so ago and forgot to post a picture - this is my standard sock recipe in a self striping 4ply, I just needed another pair of socks for the winter

Also do you rest or go straight on with the plying? Honestly I’ve done both and don’t see that much difference, but maybe that’s because of the kinds of yarn I usually spin

Rainbow yarn is finished, it had a LOT of energy coming of the bobbin, but dried perfectly into a balanced skein after some light finishing

Spinning a blend of Falkland Corriedale & Perendale. It’s so smooth and happy to become yarn, it’s almost spinning itself. The last time I spun Corriedale it puffed up a lot during finishing, so will be interesting to see what happens with this

Prepping for a house move so at the moment I’m spinning something I can easily pick up and put down in the evenings - “default” singles. This is merino but not especially fine, the micron count is a little thicker in this one

Made some 3-ply merino on my spindle stick, and wound it with the nostepinne. Finished yarn isn’t super consistent but is about 20-24 WPI in the main
