Present company excepted, mass communication often feels like commutative madness these days. There's a latent hope that rationality when it's expressed will pierce the veil of lunacy, but maybe like an entropic principle, order and rationality needs to be consolidated in before spreading out.

This has been a pleasant surprise. A game that understands the subtle distinction between isolated facts and truth or knowledge, and the very human compulsion towards drawing conclusions. Often prematurely. The music and art is pretty good too 😊
I wonder what "truth" I will arrive at.

"Free speech: You can say what you like, as long as what you can know is carefully curated."

I had this thought at the start of the preoccupation with free speech as a concept to underline the loss of perspective about the salience, relevance, or even veracity of the speech we're engaging in.

When I ask them: "What are you reading? What are you watching? What are you listening to?" Often, the answer is: nothing. Which has a direct effect on their over-use of prompts and AI, because they can't think of ideas, because they are literally not engaging with a single figurative thing.

"In the poem[...]she has a line "Real toads in imaginary Gardens". Now the power of that line is the contradiction between a real thing in an imaginary place, but that contradiction no longer exists for us."

It's illustrative of the benefits of power and of realpolitik to watch this very circumspect MAGA rebellion. He-who-will-not-be-named is the chief obstacle to achieving some closure to a saga that's had massive global implications for nearly ten years especially in the English-speaking world.
