Just launched the 'Historical Materialism: Workers and Capital' journal. The starting point for this is a shared understanding that Marxism can provide important conceptual tools for understanding the relationship between workers and capital, as well as supporting the struggle against capital.

Someone asked me why game workers haven't unionized if our conditions are so bad. These charts are why.

We have collectively lost the knowledge, skill, and willingness to organize and strike. We have to rebuild those, and that takes time.
A bar chart titled Number of workers striking by year.

The Screen Actors Guild was formed in 1933 amid lots of strikes before it and even more after it formed.

Game Workers Started Organizing in 2017 where previously there were relatively few strikes for decades prior. A graph of Union Membership in the United States from 1960-2020. It goes from 30% in 1960 to 10% in 2020. Bar chart of Percent of Union Election Campaigns with an Illegal Firing. It's 5% in 1951 to 26% in 2007. A bar chart with the title Is Ronald Regan to Blame?

No has zero.
Yes has 100.

What's in The Scum & Villains Expansion? Here's a look at just one playbook: The Mercenary 🔫

A wandering warrior, bearing scars of a lonely life, and—via the new individual Fate mechanic introduced in TSVE—destined to grow into someone new.

Wonder where I've seen a "chromasteel pauldron" before...
YOU ARE THE
MERCENARY
the mercenary is a freelancer, who bears the scars of their countless jobs.
their power comes from their experience, their calloused skin, and their aching heart.
TIPS
•	explore the tension between the life you feel it’s too late escape, and the fate that will inevitably bring you something new.
•	put your character in situations that confront their fate, and remember that change happens through failure and repetition.
•	remember that you have your fate move in addition to the moves listed below!

Excerpted for brevity
