A thing that gets ignored often is that queer actors can bring authenticity to queer roles, but can challenge directors and writers about aspects of queer life.
example: a queer actor may catch that a very type-a queer man who folds his clothes before sex may mention preparations he took for sex

Like... Marvel LITERALLY decided to completely waste the entire concept of Hulkling as Emperor of space for nothing and revert back to.. status quo of Hulkling being support for Billy.. while Billy reinforces he's Wanda-lite with his new outfit.

I think it is telling that while trans people and queer people are under attack.. DC and Marvel have pretty much decided to pretty much ignore that and focus on their decades of "bisexual women are hot" strategy.
