Halfway through my first day back to work after vacation. Even when you love love love your job, this shit is rough.

Whenever I travel, the worst and sometimes only bad part is how much I miss my dog. I wish I could tell her in a way she would understand how much I love her.

This was asked in a local social worker group. The response was as you are imagining 😅

How’re you taking care of yourself and others right now? How are you accepting and offering care?

As someone who transitioned as a minor, my heart is absolutely breaking reading this. We need to do all that we can to oppose such blatant discrimination against our trans youth.
Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.

It is not yet on the website, but has been released via press release.

Football is compelling in part b/c emotions are permitted socially around successes and losses, camaraderie and teamwork. If we had an American masculinity that allowed human expression for the experiences of LIFE, maybe we could stop watching dementia occur in slow motion. Wouldn't that be neat?

The amount of straightforward questions I see from social workers in our networking groups (which I would’ve asked my friends) leads me to wonder if many do not make supportive connections in their masters programs. 1/2

Later the same day TEFI — HELLO TEFI — liked and responded to a Thread of mine, so I immediately perished.

Can’t talk about this on Threads because that’s the scene of the thing that happened but what happened is that NORA MCINERNY followed me and rethreaded me and liked another of my threads and wow that’s exciting to me.

Today we painted dried clementine peels glued to sticks as mushrooms and it was a delight. Radiators are the perfect place to dry them, if you were wondering.

The Eaton fires destroyed a youth care facility my friend worked at. They had no time to pack, and everything is lost.

Please help support them if you can. These children and teen were ALREADY vulnerable before the fires.

There is no better medicine for me than spending time with my grad school friends who have become my go-to question answerers, co-conspirators, inspirations and aspirations when it comes to values and ethics, and the besties of my wildest dreams.
