Fine art printmaker from York, England. Dapple scrumper. Sometimes found loitering in a medieval hall and talking to strangers. Not at home to joy sponges.
More professional and businesslike on Substack and my website. https://linktr.ee/janeduke
Repost this with your home river. How timely, just as York Printmakers celebrate the Ouse and the Foss.

Hat tip to the BBC photographer who caught this. No caption needed.

Oh now come on, that was the first thing you thought of too, wasn't it?

Oh dear, what can the matter be?

Probably cat litter. But I guess I will never know 🤷‍♀️

AccuWeather is having one of those days when it can't bring itself to tell me.

The Christmas tree is SO PRETTY. I don't want to take it down tomorrow ☹️. (Please don't reply explaining that Twelfth Night isn't until Tuesday; I think it's safe to say I know what's in my diary better than you do. Also, this is not Threads).

For heaven's sake don't give him ideas!

(Quote below is Joe Kennedy III commenting on the crass renaming of the Kennedy Centre).

I am back home having spent Christmas in Canada. Here is some snow and some elk to prove it. In related news, I now know what -25⁰C feels like (effing cold).

NOT GOOD ENOUGH CHRIS.

I know you have SO many questions about printmaking. (Yes you DO, it's fascinating, don't argue). So anyway I've finally done a FAQs page.

A volunteer shift at medieval Barley Hall where we have a cheerfully anachronistic tree because CHRISTMAS and what the heck. No visitors have been bothered, but one very angry man passing by outside shouted at me through the window about it, which struck me as a sort of metaphor for Bluesky really.

I genuinely do not understand why people leave ChatGPT comments on Instagram. I mean, he could have just said "Nice 👍" in less time. Mind you, this guy has more than 40k followers so perhaps it works for him and I'm the one doing it wrong when I actually type a comment 🤷‍♀️

Imagine this is me ready to pack up your online order. I'm hoping this photo is slightly more inviting than the reality of me sitting at the computer doing my tax return, or ironing, or making lunch. Anyway, just a reminder that my shop closes at midday tomorrow.

I would advise anyone still in Whamageddon to avoid BBC2 this evening.

Early Christmas present to myself for the purposes of studio videos and what I believe you have to call 'content' - a trendy ring light and phone holder with Bluetooth remote control. I'll have a million Instagram followers by the end of January 👍

Nostell Priory has been beautifully decorated for Christmas. Trademark and copyright issues have meant a last minute change to the theme, and staff stress the story is JUST about some children being evacuated and having a lovely holiday, which I hope the ALT text in these pics makes VERY CLEAR.

You will be visited by three spirits.

That's...um...that's not...

Have you got precisely 27 seconds to watch another of those videos of a reduction linoprint developing?
December 6, 2025 at 1:02 PM
It's not just me who always hears David Jason's voice when they see this, is it?
December 5, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Finished this reduction linoprint today.
