Fine art printmaker from York, England. Dapple scrumper. Sometimes found loitering in a medieval hall and talking to strangers. Not at home to joy sponges. More professional and businesslike on Substack and my website. https://linktr.ee/janeduke

My occasional post for people who have followed me for printmaking (thank you!), explaining that most of the grown-up printmaking stuff happens over on my Substack, which is completely free by the way.

Extraordinary... 👀

I find it is often necessary to do a quick confirmation Google to check how a word is used OVER THERE. Can't take anything for granted...

I did exactly the same Google search this morning, so now we both know what each other has been doing.

In an old ad for board game Scattergories in Spain a player was shown flouncing out while anothet said “OK, we’ll accept ‘octopus’ as a pet”.
“Aceptamos pulpo” has now entered the language in the meaning of “that’s a bit of a stretch but let’s go with it just for the sake of argument”.

Same, though sometimes I get up the courage to go and have a dance in the other room. Also you won't BELIEVE who I bumped into by the punch bowl; they're really nice and normal to chat to and I managed not to fan girl.

All of the above apart from the getting an agent bit 👍

I was having a conversation the other day about how it's amazing that any of us who were children in the 60s and 70s made it to adulthood. I now realise that John Noakes and Blue Peter were *why* they had to have all those terrifying public information films.

Give it up, you WILL be too hot or too cold, probably both at different times.

'Rotter' not on Worgle's word list. I say.

How appropriate that Dame Jilly was the last question on University Challenge tonight. (Unanswered because of the bell, but it was Rutshire).

You know how starting the day with physical exercise is supposed to make you feel energised and ready to get going? Yeah nah...

Well done. It is enormously hard to step back. I had to delete a few bookmarks and remove my own access to some things when it was clear no-one else was going to 😳

Thanks, I enjoyed that. The credits really are a masterpiece, somehow making you nostalgic about people you've never met but who are still real people that you feel you remember.

Ever wondered where all the Cheers title photos are from? I did. And I've gathered everything I can find into this post. That was fun.

IMPROVISED OWL PHYSIO
folklorewales.com
Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵
