So, the plan is to cut English, the arts, and sociology - the degrees that actually study culture - while on another part of your platform claiming to “defend” British culture.

Social constructionism deconstructs the stabilising i itself.

Social constructionism destabilises essential identity entirely. Failing to grasp this really is the root of much of the "debate" on this issue.

I am just not entirely convinced that lumping them under the label nationalist is meaningful. They are clearly ideologically diverse, and nation has a different meaning to them.

Academic publishing is in such a mess. Its dependency on free labour is surely going to make this worse with so many uk universities now telling staff to do *nothing* for free... ?

What will it take to break and remake the industry?

I can't actually believe that we have allowed this to dominate debate in the manner it does. Migration is not our biggest social issue by quite a long way. Why can't people see we are being distracted.

Instead, we sanction such cruelty.

I have disagreed with her in the past, and she blocked me, but this is the most shocking thing I have seen her post. She is a headmistress! I expect more wisdom from someone in her position. I sincerely hope he doesn’t shape the future and in my opinion he was the ‘worst of us’!

She doesn’t agree with a lot of Charlie Kirk’s opinions but he shapes the future and was the best of us!

Peer reviewers are exhausted. It's common to spend *months* inviting reviewers, getting refusals, inviting more, maybe 12 or more, then 2 agree but 1 doesn't complete, so you go again. That's why your paper is in limbo. I'm very sorry, it's awful, but it's also an untenable academic labour issue.

I am entirely bemused by this. Victoria Clarke is one of the most prominent methodologists in the world. This is evidenced by multiple metrics.

From this article, it seems that her university, @uwebristolofficial.bsky.social‬ are aware of this.
