just finished the first season of Plur1bus, and was so happy with its use of silence and space/time. reminded me of Scott McCloud's description on the differences between how US and Japanese comics do transitions

I'm glad I missed that. I did catch a former colleague's fawning post about their new (very large) employer, about which, in 2025, I can only think that they'd know the cake is a lie. I should know better than to visit that site.

loved that book. in my memory it's always grouped with _Mail Order Wings_, and right around the same time, in assigned reading, Surreal 3000 and Nos Amis Robots. But the biggest impact was probably Monica Hughes (Devil on My Back, Sandwriter, and the Isis books), and McKinley's _Blue Sword_

and they can't eat out or have others pay for their meals (no catered lunches), or use their existing pantries. Since they probably can't cook, it would be interesting.
