1/3) 📣Out in Party Politics:
We trace the equal rights and economic equality positions of 69 center-right and far-right parties since 1970 in 12 countries. We find that center right parties did not react to/address equal rights concerns and economic inequality

I wish for a media that analyzes and contextualizes important events (without normalizing far-right actors and ideas) and a public that pays for that media.

The 2025 country-specific recommendations by the European Commission are out.

Any explicit pension related recommendations (beyond Recovery and Resilience Fund commitments)?

I read them all, so you don't have to 👇 (1/X)

Many European politicians are trying to attract American researchers.

However, sometimes their branding doesn't match their domestic higher education policies. So I've written a guide on recent political developments in Swedish academia for prospective immigrants.

Nice to see the authoritarian attack on academia in the U.S. being fully commodified by academic and media institutions around the world. PR and sales on the back of targeted and vulnerable academics. 👏

Being a right of center person and having spent years in another country with a class divide more pronounced than in Finland and a bigger wealth and income gap, I can relate.

Half a decade in the US and I learned to LOVE TAXES.

Did German left parties abandon economic equality in favor of equal rights, as the diagnosis of the "Lifestyle-Left" suggests? Analyzing party programs since 1970, we caution against sweeping claims in Unequal German Democracy (open access). 3 key qualifications👇

Just ashamed of European academic institutions reacting to the authoritarian clampdown against our US colleagues with "look, we have nice jobs here". Do you think this is the kind of solidarity needed from us? What are you actually doing to strengthen academic freedom and to help those affected?
