Peatlands are critical ecosystems which contain more carbon than all the world’s forests... despite covering just 3% of the global land surface.

But new research shows that vast areas of the UK’s peatlands, are, due to climate change likely to become unsuitable for peat accumulation.
UK peatlands under threat due to climate change
Peatlands in the UK are suffering from the effects of climate change. We need local and international measures to protect them

The outcome of this case will affect every one of us but is barely getting a mention in UK media. Why?

Peaceful protest is a fundemental democratic right. The decision in @libertyhq.bsky.social’s important case is due any time now. This is why I’m standing with them👇

Recently I called Sir Martyn Oliver, the chief inspector of Ofsted, a liar on 'X'. Despite this, Ofsted very kindly walked me through their proposals for the new inspection system. I am sorry to say that my feelings are probably even more entrenched than they were before…

Lymph Node Magic for me,

The cording around my neck that caused seizures in December — it ripped off yesterday. Lymphatic drainage is magic.

As a result, a chest frozen to my ribs is unadhering. I had to be careful to support my lymph nodes in my armpits. It’s surreal, uncomfortable, & a big win.

I’m terrible at positive self talk, so sometimes when I’m feeling bad about myself I imagine what my dog would say about me at a dogs-only cocktail party where everyone is standing around talking about their owners, and honestly it’s just the best little life hack

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

absolute bollocks. Typical Mail.

Just cos young men *say* it, doesn't make it true! And feminism was not created to give *them* more rights/equality.
